The European Commission has inaugurated the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance, an initiative announced during the third EU-Ukraine Defence Industry Forum held in Kyiv on 17 July 2026. According to the Commission, the alliance is designed to foster closer cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine in the development and deployment of drone technologies and systems capable of countering hostile unmanned aerial vehicles.
This partnership forms part of broader European Union efforts to strengthen defence capabilities within the rapidly evolving sector of drone warfare. The initiative aims to enhance collaborative responses to regional security challenges while supporting industrial synergy between European and Ukrainian defence sectors.
