According to the European Parliament, representatives of the Irish Presidency attended sessions across a wide range of committees to present their strategic priorities for the coming term. The briefings covered policy areas including constitutional affairs, foreign affairs, agriculture, economic and monetary affairs, and civil liberties. Other participating committees focused on sectors such as regional development, transport, tourism, fisheries, and public health.
The meetings were held to ensure coordination between the Presidency and the Parliament regarding legislative agendas and priorities across the various policy fields. These sessions involved 16 committees in total, encompassing diverse subjects from gender equality and education to security, defence, and international trade. The initiative aims to align the Irish Presidency's operational goals with the relevant parliamentary portfolios.
