According to Euronews, a succession row has kicked off in Uganda following a series of rejections over who should take the throne. The committee charged with selecting the new ruler initially chose an amateur goalkeeper based in south-east London.
However, the committee's first choice declined the offer, citing other responsibilities. Following this refusal, a replacement candidate was put forward but faced immediate rejection from the late king's own family.
The royal family subsequently produced a 2022 will that had been ignored by the selection committee, deepening the ongoing succession dispute in the country.
